Join Kevin Aversion, Owner and Principal of Kevin M. Alverson Landscape Architecture in Wickford to learn about environmentally friendly solutions to common challenges in the home landscape. Kevin will discuss ways to integrate beneficial and attractive native plantings and low impact techniques into your landscape, with a particular focus on reducing potential pollutants and stormwater runoff – all while providing a bird and pollinator friendly habitat.
A licensed Landscape Architect and URI Master Gardener, Kevin serves as the assistant Project Leader for the Beechwood Gardens Community Master Gardener Project. Regardless of the scope of his projects, which range from residential landscape designs to the creation and rehabilitation of public parks, all his work is based on the philosphy that beautiful designs must first be functional and respectful to the environment. This same philosophy drew Kevin to the RI Wild Plant Society (RIWPS) where he served as Co-Designer of the Award Winning RIWPS RI Spring Garden and Flower Show Exhibits from 2012-2016.
The Beechwood Lecture Series, offered to the public, free of charge, is a joint effort of the URI Master Gardener Program and the RI Wild Plant Society. Master Gardeners receive education credits for attending.
We are also excited to provide a preview of our upcoming speakers for our 2018 Lecture Series! Talks are held every other month. Specific dates and other details are in the process of being finalized. We hope to see you in the New Year!
