Ryan Bouchard is the author and photographer of Gourmet Mushrooms of Rhode Island, the first book about mushroom hunting in the Ocean State. Emily Schmidt studies the countless ways they can be used for cooking, as well as the nutritional values of our local varieties. Together, they educate people about enjoying the safe hunting and cooking of wild mushrooms.
Learn the fun of mushroom science and the amazing hobby of mushroom hunting. A question and answer period will follow their slide presentation filled with stunning photos of local mushrooms.
The Beechwood Lecture Series is a joint effort of the URI Master Gardeners Association and the RI Wild Plant Society. Master Gardeners receive education credits for attending.
