Beechwood Lecture Series: What’s New in the Nursery World?

March 10, 2015 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

- Free

David Bosco, the second generation owner and president of Wildwood Nursery & Wildwood Nursery and Garden Center SignGarden Center in East Greenwich, will highlight some of the latest trends in the nursery industry, including a new brand of trees that emphasize the tree as a source of enjoyment in the American landscape and how the rapidly changing practices of online sales will significantly impact the industry. The program will also touch upon improved methods and products for growing and establishing trees for long-term sustainability, and a new approach for selecting trees for the landscape, based less on the features of the tree and more on the ways it can match your individual landscape to your personality.

Mr. Bosco is a Rhode Island certified horticulturist and licensed arborist, and holds bachelor degrees in business finance and landscape architecture.

The Beechwood Lecture Series is a joint effort of the URI Master Gardeners Association and the RI Wild Plant Society. Master Gardeners receive education credits for attending.

If interested in attending, please contact Melanie Gillis, Assistant Director, Senior & Human Services, Beechwood Center for Life Enrichment at 401-268-1596 or by e-mail.
