REGISTRATION FOR THIS PROGRAM IS CLOSED AS THE PROGRAM IS FULL. Sketching plants helps one learn a plant’s specific details. This is useful in identification, understanding glossary words and a satisfying act in itself. A close look can bring surprises.
Join Frances Topping for this second session in her series, Botanizing & Sketching, to explore the varied world of tree and shrubs’ twigs and buds. Bring a sketchbook and pen or pencil. We will start outside looking at plants weather permitting and then look more closely indoors. Frances will provide twigs of a number of species for sketching. Sketching techniques will be introduced.
Frances Topping holds a Certificate of Natural Science Illustration for the Rhode Island School of Design and a degree in Geography, Botany and Zoology as well as in Graphic Design with Illustration and Photography. Among other places, her drawings are featured on RIWPS native plant sale posters.
