This program is the third in our Herbarium Series with Dr. Tim Whitfeld, Collections Manager at the Brown Herbarium. The workshop at Caratunk Wildlife Refuge, (ten minutes from Providence), includes a field botanizing session of identifying, selecting and collecting specimens, followed by a classroom session on pressing the specimens. Dr. Whitfeld will also discuss the protocol for labeling specimens. At the end of the workshop, Dr. Whitfeld will take the specimens to the Herbarium to complete the drying process and we will make arrangements for you to pick up your finished specimens.
We thank the Audubon Society for allowing us to hold this educational program at their refuge. Please note, collecting plants on public or private lands is only possible with specific authorized permission.
