Introduction to Plant Communities: Trustom National Wildlife Refuge

This walk is the first in a two part series Introduction to Plant Communities. These walks focusing on the natural features and plants that characterize particular plant communities. Emphasis will be on common and easily recognized plants. No prior plant knowledge is needed or assumed, though experts are always welcome! Brian Maynard, Professor of Horticulture at University of Rhode Island, will guide you on this botanizing experience of Trustom’s maritime woodland and coastal shrubland plant communities.  Bring water and dress appropriately for the weather and for protection against sun, tics, other insects, etc.

The group will meet in the Parking Lot at Trustom.
