An Introduction to Wildflower Identification Using Newcomb’s Field Guide

June 17, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Want to improve your plant identification skills?  This workshop will begin in the classroom with a one hour review of plant identification terms and getting familiar with the unique key devised by Newcomb.  We will then proceed outside to use this key to identify live specimens. (In the event of inclement weather, we will gather flowers to work on inside.)

Bring your own copy of Newcomb’s Wildflower Guide –any edition is fine*.  If you have some wildflowers you’re particularly interested in identifying, bring them along as well!

*Newcomb’s Wildflower Guide is widely available for purchase on line.  Should you prefer, many copies are available through the RI Library system.
