The genus Eupatorium, commonly known as thoroughworts, is found throughout much of New England in a variety of upland and wetland habitats. It has recently undergone reclassifications at the genus and species level, which often rely on micromorphological characters.
This webinar by Arthur Haines provides students with a background to understand the rationale for splitting the genus and with the vocabulary necessary for species identification. Abundant close-up and habit-level photographs articulate the features of the new genera and provide a framework for understanding the species identification and ecology within New England.
The program is a part of New England Wildflower Society’s Live Webinar Offerings.
