Want to help the children in your life to connect with nature? Bring them to Lime Rock Preserve for a children’s guided nature walk with Becky Settje. You and your children will be encouraged to be nature detectives by using your senses to observe interesting plants, trees, insect behavior, historic land use and more. We’ll walk through woodlands on an old trolley path, rest near a pond and share the sights, smells and sounds as we go. This walk is a repeat of the walk on Tuesday November 15.
Our Children’s Walks are suitable for children K through 6th grade. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Bring water and snacks and be sure to use restrooms before your arrival. There are no facilities at this preserve. Wear appropriate clothing for trail walking — long sleeved shirts, long pants, socks and sturdy shoes.
Leader —Becky Settje, a RI Wild Plant volunteer and nature enthusiast, has over 30 years experience working with children through various programs including Girl Scouts, 4-H and homeschooling. She is currently a school group docent for Garden in the Woods, a native plant garden in Framingham, MA. Becky has a passion to share her love of flora and fauna with children. Through her energetic, fun and “child led” approach, your children will learn to become nature detectives as we explore and observe the great outdoors.
