Go Wild about Native Plants – Potluck Luncheon (for members) Postponed

January 8 @ 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm

DUE TO THE MOST RECENT COVID CONDITIONS, THIS EVENT IS POSTPONED UNTIL A DATE LATER IN 2022.

Join us for a Potluck Luncheon. Let’s enjoy spending time with fellow native plant enthusiasts.  Brian Maynard, long time RIWPS member and URI professor, Department of Plant Sciences and Entomology, will also be sharing his perspectives in a presentation entitled Moss be a Lichen: Appreciating Small Green Things.

Potluck

Kindly bring an appetizer, main dish or dessert.
We will provide the beverages and the fixings!

In addition to RIWPS caps and our coloring books, A Walk Through the Seasons with Rhode Island Wild Plants, we will be offering clamshell winter seed sowing kits. Each kit is a clamshell container with holes poked into the top and bottom, filled with a seed starter medium and a packet of seeds with planting directions and labels. We will have 20 available for a cost of $5.00 each.  There will be five kits of one of four different types of seed: butterfly milkweed (Asclepias tuberosa), swamp milkweed (Asclepias incarnata), foxglove beardtongue (Penstemon digitalis), and cardinal flower (Lobelia cardinalis).   flower).

Space is limited so an RSVP is required.  Out of an abundance of caution, we are asking that all participants have up to date covid vaccinations and wear masks except for when eating.

Also note.  There is ample on street parking around Aldrich House.
