Barbara Fenimore, a cherished RIWPS volunteer passed away on February 13, 2025.

Barbara worked tirelessly with Seed Starters to bring back native plants and restore local environmental integrity.  She is remembered for her infectious positive energy, including spur of the moment invites to join her on excursions to experience the beauty of natural areas replete with favorite plants and the radiant smile that accompanied her offers to help.  Conversations were marked by her warmth and good humor. Barbara happily assisted Dorothy Swift, at the Rhododendron/Azalea section at the plant sales.  For those not yet convinced to purchase a plant with just beginning to form buds, Barbara was at the ready with images of them if their full flowering glory.

Barbara’s home gardens, filled with butterflies and birds, were a testament to “bringing nature home”.  Her many bird feeders allowing her to enjoy her bird watching passion from the comfort of home. A warm and inviting home for her children and grandchildren that often filled the rooms with laughter, games, and stories.

We extend our heartfelt sympathy to Barbara’s family and friends.
