Help RIWPS support the Grow Rhode Island Native Seeds Initiative (GRINS)  a project to empower Rhode Islanders to grow and champion native plants via seeds, information, and programming organized by their local libraries. 

GRINS is made possible in part by a grant from the RI Office of Library and Information Services using funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

Fourteen RI libraries are involved in this recently funded program and are looking for presenters on topics like:

  • Reasons for gardening with native plants
  • Practical considerations for gardening with native plants
  • How to germinate and grow native seeds
  • Planning a native garden
  • Native plant selections, plants for different situations, straight vs cultivars
  • Tips for shopping for native plants
  • Reseeding RI
